2.3.3: Clery Act/Minger Act

Under the Clery Act (formerly Campus Security Act; 20 U.S.C. Sec. 1092f, Student Right to Know), colleges are required to publish statistics concerning the occurrences on campus during the most recent calendar year, and during the two preceding calendar years for which data are available, of the following criminal offences, forcible or non-forcible sex offences, murder, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and weapons violations. The Minger Act adds new offenses to be reported; these are criminal damage, menacing, reckless homicide, stalking, terroristic threatening, theft, and wanton endangerment. Statistics provided in compliance of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 and the Michael Minger Act of 2000, are available for inspection at the Campus Safety Department.
