3.1.18: Professional Attire

The University’s public image is of significant importance to the current and future achievements of the University. With these considerations in mind, employees are expected to use good judgment in grooming, appearance, and personal habits so that at all times a professional and positive image is conveyed within the community and to the public.

University employees, while at work, are expected to present a clean, neat and professional appearance. Employee dress and appearance shall be within acceptable standards of health and safety and appropriate to the type of work performed. Some departments or areas may have dress and appearance standards consistent with their function. Supervisors will inform employees as to any specific requirement for department standard of dress. Violation of this policy could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
