2.3.3.0.5: Length of Leave
An employee may receive up to twelve (12) weeks of approved leave in a twelve (12) month period for any one or more of the above reasons. The 12-month period will be measured in a rolling twelve-month period and begins with the first day of leave.
An employee may take the leave intermittently, that is, in periods of days when medically necessary. The employee and the employee’s immediate supervisor must then attempt to work out a schedule which meets the employee’s needs without unduly disrupting the University’s operations, subject to the approval of the health care provider. If intermittent leave is requested for the birth or placement of a child, it may be taken only if approved by the University.
