3.1.0: At Will Employment

Unless otherwise provided in a written agreement of employment, an employee’s employment with the University is employment at will, terminable at any time by either the employee or the University, with or without cause. Except as provided in Volume IV or in any individual administrative contract signed by the President of the University, nothing in the Policy Manual, including this Volume V or any other manual or policy, work rule or oral or written statement of Spalding University shall be construed as a guarantee of continued employment or an employment contract.

Only the President of the University has the authority to enter into a contract of employment for any specified period or to make any promises contrary to the foregoing. Any such agreement or promise shall not be enforceable unless set forth in writing and signed by the President of the University.
