3.8.2.0: Forms of Disciplinary Action

Disciplinary action may take the form of oral warning, written reprimand, suspension with or without pay, demotion or termination. The specific action taken will depend on the nature of the offense, the circumstances surrounding the offense and the employee’s previous record. In certain circumstances, suspending an employee with pay will not be considered disciplinary action, and the University reserves the right to take such action, as it deems appropriate. Copies of any written reprimands by a supervisor must be forwarded to the Human Resources Director. Any personnel action to suspend or terminate an employee must be reviewed by the Corporate General Counsel and Human Resources Director before any action is taken.
